SEO Extensions for Link builders

With a plethora of SEO extensions available, knowing which ones to use can make all the difference to the aspiring link builder.  Now I know that you “would not like to think a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that person has no idea what it means to have a plethora.”  But trust me when I say – there are a lot out there.  And while I may not have your superior intellect and education*, today I am going to talk about two of the more comprehensive plugins out there that help in my link building campaigns: SEOQuake and SEO Moz.

SeoQuake is a popular extension (available for Firefox and Chrome browsers, with betas for Opera and Safari) that allows link builders to view SEO data for a large number of SEO parameters quickly and easily.

Once you’ve installed the extension, to get started you enter a search query in your search engine of choice.  When the search engine returns the results of your query, SEO Quake displays page rank, Google index, Alexa, web archive, whois link, SEMRush rank and more under each result shown on the SERP.

In addition to the summary of SEO data on the SERP, SEO Quake also has a Keyword Density tool that will display the number of times keywords appear on the page as well as an option to highlight nofollow links.
SEO parameters:

  • Google PageRank
  • Google Index
  • Yahoo links
  • Yahoo linkdomain
  • Bing index
  • Alexa Rank
  • Webarchive age
  • Delicious index
  • Whois link
  • Page source
  • SEMRush rank
  • Nofollow links

SEO Moz is another great extension (also available for Firefox and Chrome) that allows link builders access to important SEO metrics at a glance as you surf the Web.  PRO-membership is required to access the full features offered by SEOmoz.

Install the extension and enter your search query.  When the search engine returns your results, SEOmoz will display page authority, domain authority, mozRank, mozTrust, and total links in a mozbar under each result shown on the SERP.

For detailed information, the SEOmoz extension has options for the number of external and internal followed links and linking root domains.  With this tool you can also highlight links (followed, no-followed, internal, and external links) on the page, IP address and country flag, and shortcuts to the enire suite of SEOmoz tools on their website (i.e. Open Site Explorer, Link Analysis, whois, keyword optimization and more).  PRO-membership is required to access some of these tools.

SEO parameters:

  • Page elements
  • Page Attributes
  • Page authority
  • Domain authority
  • Total links
  • Highlight links
  • Whois
  • IP/Country Flag
  • SEOmoz tools shortcuts

With these two extensions, a link builder can access important SEO data quickly to aid in their analysis,  research and other daily SEO tasks.
