Twitter cards allow users to select which photos, videos, images, audio files, and media experiences relate to individual pages should they be shared on Twitter. Twitter Cards grab more attention than conventional tweets because they are more dynamic, which helps businesses get noticed on this social media platform. There are a number of Twitter Cards available depending on the user’s goal: Summary Card, Summary Card with Large Image, Player Card, and App Card.

To use a Twitter Card, you must choose your card type (note: every indexable page on a website should have at least a Summary Card), add the related HTML meta tags to the page and run the URL through the validator tool. You can also preview what each page preview will look like by testing them as draft tweets in your Twitter account. It is recommended to do this for core pages and any content you plan to make sharable on Twitter.
